So begins 2017...Notes from a growing family
Here we go. 2016 is out.
We spent New Year's Eve travelling from Portland and then crashing into house in a snotty and feverish whirlwind.
If our New Year's resolution is for someone to be sick at all times in 2017 we are well on our way. We are only 4 days in but it has been rough around here. I have a cold that I just can't shake, but to be honest when other people have sores in their mouths and 102 degree fevers it doesn't matter.
......
With everyone sick I haven't been to work this week. As such, that means I am on my 3rd week off of work. It seems like with my work it's either a drought or a flood. I am missing my work peeps but also glad that my work has such flexibility to allow for me to be at home, send some emails from here and just do what I need to do.
......
It is cold out. Unusually cold for here. It's been in the low 30s. Our pond is frozen, their are no clouds in sight. It's nice weather to NOT be commuting via bus and water taxi.
.....
One of the chickens starting laying eggs. Finally finally! We have had 6 eggs or so. I am joking these are the most expensive eggs of our life. I really like having chickens though. I also really like having productive animals. Finally someone around here is a contributor!
.....
I am eating up books like it is my job. Well it is my job. Not eating but reading.. anyway I have a stack of book about Catholic controversies and a stack of books about things I am SUPER interested in. I don't know where to go. I am also currently reading 2 different novels. 1 on my phone and one in book form.
.....
It's time for me to start working on our annual family yearbook. This year I am going to try to add some funny quotes from the kids. Usually we just do pictures and then go in and add our own handwritten captions. We are going to keep doing that but I want to write down some of our more funny kid quotes this year...
.....
So that's what's up.
on your mark.
get ready.
get set.
go.................
