Poem. What I don't know about nature.

I would like to write a poem about red breasted grebes and black footed boobies.
I like to think I'll impress you with my astute knowledge of nature.

Except I don't know the names of the birds that sit on the water each morning.
(though I assure you I have tried to remember them.)

I do know that the cold cannot penetrate their confidence.
The wind doesn't push down on their buoyed bodies on the waves.
And that each morning these little water birds with their rotund little bodies bring me great joy.

  1. And that's all that matters... that they bring you great joy. Almost everyone has a nickname, so "grebes" and "boobies" can be YOUR nickname for them. (Or perhaps you're correct!)
