Palm Sunday and Covid-19

What if I told you that there was a person walking into New York City who had the vaccine for Covid-19.
Would you escort her into the city safely?
Would you pave the way for her?
Would you treat him like freaking royalty?

And if those suffering from the virus could walk out of the ICU to greet her- how might they do that?  With graditude, awe, wonder, and desperation they might approach her.

This is how I have been imagingine Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. on Palm Sunday  That Jesus bears the balm for the suffering of the world.  He brings a much needed hope;  desperate healing, the medicine or vaccine of his age.

And then, what if, by the end of the week, leaders were so jelous of the attention or so threatened by his power, so afraid of what he could do to get the people energized  that they locked him up, they killed him.  I keep thinking that this is the devastation of Good Friday. That all the hope that the worlds suffering and poor had on Sunday is dried up and dead by Friday.
