Taking your kid out of Church

When squeezing too hard is not out of fear of her falling
but from the judgement of others that stirrs up frustration with my kid
And tears of anger and sadness mix up together.
When the smiles at her light pigtails turn into glares from the uptight old ladies it's time to leave church.

Shamefaced and angry and totally out of patience
We hurridly grab everything we brought to get us through
And we get out.

Leaving the gospel to be proclaimed at home.
