Easter Monday...
Easter for me is a work holiday. Easter sunday- not exactly but Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Saturday night (into Sunday morning) are a beast for me. Yes, they are wonderful! The richness of the Triduum (the three days and one mass that Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night are), welcoming new members through sacraments into our church, washing feet, kissing the cross, all of it is such wonderful stuff. The words are complex, rich, confusing, ancient, and ever new...
...so...
Easter Sunday is not a work day but is an exhausting day of recovery. A woman 37 weeks pregnant who arrives home at 2:00am to sleep for 5 hours is not going to be tip top shape the next day. We did manage to go to mass today, and two of us managed to take a naps. But Sean had to work tonight...so we are celebrating Easter tomorrow.
We aren't doing an egg hunt...or bunny things...but will plant some flowers, bless our house, enjoy a feast, and be together.
Sounds like a holiday to me!
