Feb. 9: I love winter flowers

If you read my blog frequently, and do so from another part of the country, you must be sick of me gloating about our winter. I think I'm just preparing myself for the spring dolldrums which are very very hard here; it is just brutal when it is springtime everywhere else here and it's still winter here. Nonetheless, we are given some winter delights here and that means that spring flowers start very early some years. This is apparently one of those years. The daffodil bulbs are sending up shoots and plants are taking note of our longer days..Minute by minute.

I love walking around with an eye for the delights coming up from the earth.
