Turtles make me so tired!

Did I run a marathon?

Perhaps I have been hauling trucks on my shoulders?

No no- it is I who in a previous life was soley responsible for the building of the great pyramids and now I must rest.

Oh no none of these things. My body is exhaustedly growing a turtle (or a baby but the ultrasound could've been a turtle!)

So this pregnancy fatigue that people talk about is for real! I have never been so tired in my life. I get up at 5:45 (begrudgingly) go to work and work until 3:30. Then I drive home; but on the drive home I get sleepier and sleepier. I pick up Sean and let him drive. I put my seat down and begin the snooze. I walk inside put down my bags and go to bed. At 5:00 I am fast asleep. I get up at some time between 7:30 and 9 to have something to eat, and then back to bed.

I am incapable of cooking, doing laundry, opening the mail, cleaning anything, walking Maggie. I even dread brushing my teeth as it slows down my going to bed process.

I have never been so tired in my life. They say it gets better.
If it doesn't then Sean, Maggie, the baby and I are all screwed.

  1. I completely identify with the exhaustion. I used to refer to the baby not as a turtle, but as a tumor or a parasite because I felt so drained.

The good news is I'm starting to feel like some of the energy is coming back. Let's hope, for both our sakes, that what they say about second trimester is true--that it makes you feel better than you have in ages :D
