Yesterday Sean came home early from work (blessed be!) and I went on a walk while the girls were napping.
Next to our home is 10 undeveloped acres for sale, and in this land are several paths, roads etc. So I took Maggie and just wandered. Uphill. Downhill. Over ankle twisting rocks. Maggie took her tennis ball, I took my journal.
I was probably out walking for an hour. It was so so lovely.

I am amazed at how the sword ferns still thrive in the dry summer. |

What the heck is this plant? The leaves resemble a blackberry and the stalks have thorns. They are NOT blackberries either. But they are all over our front yard. |

Fall is coming. |
Leaves are dropping.
