Memorial Day weekend- and Queen Victoria Day
2 weeks ago Sean and I were discussing the affordability of going away for this weekend. We kinda figured out how much we could spend on lodging, and figured out it would have to be at a place we could cook and stuff. Then we got a flat tire and figured we would need to purchase 4 tires. Plans nixed. But then, we only needed one tired and ended up finding a good deal at a place in British Columbia.
We haven't done a ton of exploring in the Pacific Northwest yet. When we moved here in August we were over explored in terms of energy (driving accross the country had done us in) and in terms of finances. So we have mostly kept our explorations to Whidbey Island, Vashon Island, and Bainbridge Island in the sound. . . which are also all close to the city.
But this time we are going the other direction. We are crossing the Cascades (the mountians to our east) and heading North. I guess it's supposed to be warmer there (more inland so also colder in the winter) and beautiful. . . but for Sean and I we tend to see beauty in a lot of places.
All in all we are excited, and as we travel I know that we are both thinking and wondering if this is a place that we will bring our little person? We are wondering if this will become a memorial day tradition, or a family vacation sight or something like that.
So we are off. Maggie, Sean and myself. Here's a link if you want to check it out...
